The movie Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom stars many famous actors, with the main role played by DC’s Jason Momoa.
James Wan is the director of Aquaman 2, which is expected to be the last film in the current DCEU series. It features Momoa as the main character, Aquaman, and his last journey with the Kingdom of Atlantis.
There hasn’t been much advertising for this sequel yet, and people have mixed feelings about it, especially after the recent poor performance of The Flash at the box office.

Their Roles Jason Momoa – Plays Arthur Curry, also known as Aquaman.
Jason Momoa is back as Arthur Curry, also known as Aquaman, possibly for the last time in the next DC movie sequel.
In the first movie, Arthur became the king of Atlantis and the guardian of the oceans. In Aquaman 2, he will focus more on these roles.
In addition to his duties as a leader, Arthur is also trying to keep his new family intact, especially with the arrival of his son, Arthur Jr.
There’s been a lot of talk about Momoa’s role as Aquaman because of the upcoming changes in the DC universe. It’s not clear if his version of the character will be part of the new DCU. Momoa himself has expressed doubts about returning for a third film.
Amber Heard reprises her role as Mera
Aquaman 2, despite the controversies involving her and her former husband, Johnny Depp, and the negative reaction from fans.
In August 2022, The Wrap reported that Heard would appear for only about “20 minutes” in the sequel, suggesting she plays a smaller part in the movie.
During her legal issues, it was disclosed that Mera’s character is expecting a child in the film.
However, in Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom, Mera plays a crucial role. She becomes the Queen of Atlantis, a parent, and one of the most formidable warriors of Atlantis.
Patrick Wilson is back as Orm Marius
Aquaman 2, after being the primary antagonist in the first film.
In this sequel, Orm, who now has a different appearance, joins forces with Jason Momoa’s Aquaman, albeit unwillingly. Their goal is to defeat Black Manta, who has been taken over by King Necrus.
Wilson is widely recognized for his performances in the horror movie series Insidious and The Conjuring.
Dolph Lundgren – King Nereus
Dolph Lundgren returns to the DC Extended Universe (DCEU) as King Nereus, the father of Mera and the ruler of Xebel, in Aquaman 2.
Lundgren has praised the sequel, stating that it is better than the first movie. He highlighted that the “script is stronger and it’s more exciting.”
In Aquaman 2, King Nereus plays a more prominent role. He joins the mission to locate Black Manta, leading the forces of Atlantis to stop his fearsome rule.
Lundgren is well-known for his roles in Rocky IV, Masters of the Universe, and The Expendables.
Yahya Abdul-Mateen II as David Kane / Black Manta
Yahya Abdul-Mateen II returns to his role as David Kane, also known as Black Manta, in the DC Extended Universe (DCEU).
The end-credits scene in Aquaman hinted at a more significant role for Black Manta in the sequel, setting the stage for a confrontation with Jason Momoa’s main character, Aquaman.
In Aquaman 2, Black Manta is even more formidable, thanks to upgrades from Atlantean technology and his new alliance with Stephen Shin.
Additionally, Black Manta wields a new weapon in the sequel: the Black Trident, an ancient relic previously owned by King Necrus of the Lost Kingdom.
Abdul-Mateen II is also set to play Simon Williams in the upcoming Marvel Studios series Wonder Man. He is known for his performances in Candyman, Black Mirror, and HBO’s Watchmen series.
Randall Park as Dr. Stephen Shin
Randall Park is back as Dr. Stephen Shin in Aquaman 2.
In the first movie, his character was intensely focused on proving the existence of Atlantis. This obsession continues in the sequel, where he joins forces with Black Manta in an attempt to defeat the main character, Aquaman.
Park is widely recognized for playing Jimmy Woo in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU). His other notable roles include The Interview, Always Be My Maybe, and the TV show Fresh Off the Boat.
Temuera Morrison as Thomas Curry
Temuera Morrison returns to his role as Thomas Curry, Arthur’s human father, in Aquaman 2, following a brief appearance in The Flash.
Morrison is best known for portraying Boba Fett and Jango Fett in the Star Wars franchise.
Nicole Kidman as Atlanna
Nicole Kidman also reprises her role as Atlanna in the DC sequel. She plays the former queen of Atlantis and the biological mother of Arthur and Orm.
In Aquaman 2, Atlanna takes an active role in defending her family against Black Manta. After Arthur and Orm’s reunion, she urges them to put their differences aside and protect each other.
Kidman’s notable past roles include movies like Rabbit Hole, The Golden Compass, The Invasion, and Batman Forever.
Indya Moore as Karshon
Indya Moore is among the new faces joining the DC universe in Aquaman 2.
In September 2021, news emerged that Moore had been cast in the sequel as Karshon, originally a Green Lantern villain from the comic books.
In DC Comics, Karshon, also known as The Shark, is a telepathic and anthropomorphic tiger shark whose evolution accelerates due to radiation exposure.
However, Moore’s portrayal of Karshon in Aquaman 2 takes a different direction. In the film, Karshon is a member of the High Council, and it’s evident that Arthur is not pleased with her joining.
Moore is recognized for her performances in Pose and Escape Room.
Pilou Asbæk as Kordax, King of Necrus
Pilou Asbæk plays the role of King Kordax of Necrus, a primary antagonist in Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom. Kordax, who is King Atlan’s brother, was previously defeated by Atlan in a war between Necrus and Atlantis.
In an August 2022 interview with Comicbookmovie, Asbæk hinted at his role in the sequel, stating, Yes! That’s gonna be cool…but I can’t say anything!
Asbæk is also known for his roles in Game of Thrones, Samaritan, Ghost in the Shell, and Overlord.
Jani Zhao as Stingray
Jani Zhao appears as Stingray in Aquaman 2, a character specifically created for the sequel. Stingray is one of Black Manta’s dedicated followers.
Zhao’s previous work includes The Sugar Captains, South, and California.
Vincent Regan as King Atlan
Vincent Regan reprises his role as King Atlan in Aquaman 2, a sequel in the DC Extended Universe.
King Atlan was the original ruler of Atlantis before it went underwater and was the first owner of the powerful trident. In Aquaman 2, the deteriorating relationship between King Atlan and his brother Kordax is explored, which leads to the downfall of Necrus.
Regan is recognized for his performances in movies like 300, Lockout, Troy, and Clash of the Titans.
Martin Short as Kingfish Martin
Short, a well-known comedian, joins the Aquaman 2 cast as the voice of Kingfish, the pirate leader located in the Sunken Citadel.
Kingfish plays a crucial role in the film’s plot, as he is the one who reveals Black Manta’s location to Arthur and Orm.
Short recently starred as Oliver Putnam in Only Murders in the Building. His other credits include Inherent Vice, Innerspace, and “How I Met Your Mother.”
John Rhys-Davies as Brine King
John Rhys-Davies provides the voice for Brine King, the leader of the Brine Kingdom. In the movie, he allies with Arthur, Orm, Mera, and King Nereus against the threats posed by Black Manta and Necrus.
Rhys-Davies has also voiced various characters in the DC Animated Universe, such as Baron Waclaw Jozek in Batman: The Animated Series and Hades in Justice League.
